ISO 45001:2018 Tests

The ISTO ISO 45001:2018 examination focuses not only on the requirements of the ISO 45001 requirements standard, but also ensures that those who pass the exam have demonstrated a knowledge of the underlying principles of occupational health and safety management that are outlined in ISO 45001:2018.

As with the ISO 9001:2015 exam, the emphasis is on demonstrated understanding of the different organizational situations where the standards can be applied, and ensuring that candidates are aware of the practical implications of and occupational health and safety management system that is results-focused and avoids excessive bureaucracy.

Individuals may demonstrate their understanding of the concepts, terminology, requirements and guidance provided by the ISO 45001:2018 standard using the ISTO Certificate of TEST OF UNDERSTANDING or the TEST OF FUNDAMENTALS.

Syllabus

Candidates will be expected to be able to demonstrate their understanding of the following topics:

TEST OF UNDERSTANDING
  1. The vocabulary, terms and definitions used in the ISO 45001:2018
  2. The requirements for an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), as specified in ISO 45001:2018 ("Occupational Health and Safety"), applied to organizations of different types, sizes and complexities.
  3. The guidance presented in Annex A to ISO 45001:2018, and its role in the implementation of an OHSMS
TEST OF FUNDAMENTALS
  1. The vocabulary, terms and definitions used in the ISO 45001:2018
  2. The requirements for an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), as specified in ISO 45001:2018 ("Occupational health and safety management systems - Requirements with guidance for use"), applied to organizations of different types, sizes and complexities.
